Welcome to Hyde Park Allegro Music Camp 2018!

Dear Friends,

Thank you for visiting our Website! We are delighted to be entering our ninth summer of Hyde Park Allegro Music Camp. Our focus is to teach children who are enthusiastic about exploring and expanding their musical interests and endeavors. We will focus again on instrument workshops where students will receive more in-depth instruction on one chosen instrument. We will also continue our tradition of presenting one-hour hands-on introductory instrument sessions. Kids will move by learning Morris Folk Dancing taught by our multi-talented resident instructor, Lorraine Brochu. More classes/activities include music theory/sight reading, building a hose trumpet, and taking an ice cream walk. Students will also enjoy musical games which will reinforce music theory, learning about different composers and musical periods and styles. We will conclude camp with a mini-concert on Friday August 17 when students will perform for fellow students, families and friends.

Camp duration will be the recommended two-weeks format to maintain continuity of lessons. However, a one-week option is available for students who cannot attend both weeks. Camp hours will be from 9:30 am to 3:30 pm with drop-off beginning at 9:00am. We will offer an optional after camp hour as well. This year HPAMC will return to Church of St. Paul and the Redeemer in east Hyde Park.

All sessions will be taught by our wonderful Chicago area musicians and teachers who are dedicated and experienced professionals. Please don’t hesitate to e-mail [dlfpiano@me.com] or call me [773 315 8268]if you have any questions.

Many thanks and hope to see you this summer!
